One of the largest producers of greenhouses in the Russian Federation — the company “Agrisovgaz” — has started designing greenhouses for growing vegetables in difficult climatic conditions of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, the company’s CEO Maxim Yakibchuk told TASS on Sunday.

“As for foreign countries, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, these are very promising markets for our company. Pre—design and project work is underway now, as well as the process of selecting technologies that correspond to the customer’s site,” the agency interlocutor said. According to him, the project work began as part of the conclusion of contracts.

According to Yakibchuk, these countries, in terms of technology and availability of their own vegetable production, “are now in about the same situation as Russia eight years ago.” In the market of these countries there is a small amount of vegetables of their own production and a significant share of imported products from Europe and Egypt.
“Since the prices for such products are high, the state has begun to subsidize the construction of its own greenhouse complexes. Given the unfavorable climate (50-60 degrees Celsius), it is very difficult to grow vegetables in film greenhouses, the yield is low. Our company has technologies that would allow us to get a good harvest,” the agency interlocutor added.

Business system for Arab countries

Yakibchuk clarified that key partners have already been found in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In the case of these states, we are talking about glass greenhouses that allow you to grow any crops in any climatic conditions.
“Our Arab partners are not just interested in the supply of technology, as Western companies offer. They want us to build a business system for them and show that it can work for them,” Yakibchuk said.

The Group of Companies “Agrisgaz” includes a plant of aluminum structures, a plant of steel structures and a hot-dip galvanizing plant, which makes it possible to produce greenhouse complexes for different climatic conditions in a large volume. The company’s products are supplied to more than 20 countries around the world and are also used in the construction of skyscrapers, Olympic facilities, the production of trunk trailers and high-speed trains.
