At the regional competition-exhibition “The best product of Kazakhstan — 2022”, in the nomination “Young entrepreneur”, the winner was an individual entrepreneur from the Kordai district of Zhambyl region Aziz Rzayev, who is actively engaged in hydroponics.
The path to recognition at the regional competition for Aziz began at the turn of 2019-2020. Then he worked as a leading financial specialist in the banking sector. After learning about the implementation of the Bastau Business project in the region, I decided to radically change the type of activity. Having completed successful training within the framework of the project, he received a certificate that gives him the opportunity to apply for the opening of his business.

— I was eager to work in the field of agriculture – to grow hydroponic feed. After collecting the information, he developed a business plan. In this case, I was assisted by the staff of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”. I consulted with them a lot, consulted on how best to protect the project. At home, I collected small models in order to understand what a hydroponic installation is. After that, I decided to apply for an innovation grant. In the presented business project, I took into account possible risks in advance,” Aziz Rzayev recalls.

Having successfully defended the project, he received three million tenge. He registered as an individual entrepreneur — he opened an IP “Khozhagaevich” and began active preparation for work. Purchased a hydroponic plant capable of producing 150 kilograms of products per day. In addition, he enlisted the support of sponsors who helped him to bring the room in which the installation was placed into proper condition.

— I had a small storage room, but there was no water or light in it. Investors have allocated money. I myself also invested personal funds in the amount of 3.5 million tenge. As a result, it took me about 4.3 million just to prepare the premises and purchase the installation. I insulated the warehouse, drilled a well. In the future, the work was carried out in a test mode for two months. Any technique needs to be mastered, to understand the principle of its operation. It was necessary to adjust watering, lighting, adjust the operation of the ventilation and exhaust systems,” Aziz said.

The young entrepreneur decided to grow wheat and barley and in 2021 tried to get the first harvest. That was the first time he encountered problems. During the first month, the yield was low, the sprouts began to mold. He called the company where he purchased the equipment. As it turned out, the problem was in the grain itself, or rather in its low quality. At first, wheat for germination of sprouts was purchased in the north of the country, but the process did not give the proper result – a hydroponic carpet was not formed. After that, it was decided to use local varieties. By that time, the growing process itself had been adjusted.

— I have a 20-ton insulated container. Inside there are irrigation systems, phyto-lighting, air conditioning. The temperature ranges from +18 to +19.5 degrees and is maintained automatically. If it rises, say, by two degrees, then we will not be able to harvest the amount of harvest that should initially be obtained. At the moment, the yield of one plant averages from 150 to 190 kilograms per day. The process is cyclical. The device is filled within a week, — says the entrepreneur.

Sprouted products — green hydroponic feed — are supplied to two local farms. One of them is engaged in breeding dairy cows, the other — horses and cattle.

Having learned that a contest-exhibition “The best product of Kazakhstan — 2022” will be held in the regional center, Aziz Rzayev firmly decided to try his luck.

— I wanted to participate in the competition first of all in order to motivate rural youth, to show with my work that it is not necessary to stop in one place, it is important to develop, — Aziz shares. – Two people work with me. Even by implementing small projects, you can achieve great success. If the state supports, you need to use the opportunities provided.

Today, the production of hydroponic feed has reached full capacity. Having achieved one goal, Aziz Rzayev set himself another: we need to expand. Said and done. At the end of December last year, he won a presidential grant in the amount of three million tenge. With these funds, I collected another installation. In general, the profitability of the project is about 23-25 percent. According to the calculations of the entrepreneur, in the absence of negative factors, it will pay off in two and a half years.

And Aziz Rzayev shares his experience with others. Several times he conducted classes at the Kordai Agricultural College.

In the future, the young entrepreneur intends to master the witgrass technology — the production of juice from sprouted wheat germ. Juice contains a number of vitamins, micro- and macroelements, enzymes and amino acids necessary for a person. While the project is at the stage of ideas, but if everything goes according to plan, Aziz will establish production of this type of product in the foreseeable future.

Recall that on October 8, 2022, the republican contest-exhibition “The Best product of Kazakhstan” will be held in the capital at the address: Astana, Mangilik El Avenue, 53/1 at the EXPO International Exhibition Center. The opening hours of the exhibition are from 10.00 to 18.00.
