In Novorossiysk, buyers switch to greenhouse vegetables

The most common summer vegetables that were popular in the warm season in fresh form — cucumbers and tomatoes, are becoming more expensive. Greenhouse vegetables are replacing ground vegetables.

In the Central Market, prices for tomatoes start at 75 rubles. Beautiful glossy fruits of the variety “paradise”, “bull’s heart” cost from 110 rubles. By the way, you can also meet dirt ones. Some varieties of tomatoes bear fruit for a very long time, and our weather is favorable for this. Ground tomatoes taste better, and everyone knows it. Although, of course, they do not look as “brilliant” as those grown in greenhouses.

But cucumbers are almost all from greenhouses. On the boxes in which they are brought, the addresses of local greenhouse plants are indicated. Cucumbers of the Mamluk variety can be bought for 75 rubles a kilogram, “zozulya” and “relay” — from 60 to 80 rubles. There are offers for 100 rubles — these cucumbers look very appetizing, pimply beauties. But how much does their taste like summer?

Now there is no shortage of cucumbers or tomatoes in the markets and fairs of the city. But we are going into winter, and prices will rise.
