According to the results of the outgoing season, about 108 hectares of year-round greenhouse complexes will be launched in Russia. The new capacities will serve to increase vegetable production by at least 20 thousand tons per year. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in the 2010s, 270 to 300 hectares of greenhouses were launched annually in the country. Then the growth rate in the industry decreased. In 2022, only 90 hectares of year-round greenhouses appeared in Russia, and in 2023 – 60. The growth observed today may indicate the resumption of active development of Russian indoor vegetable growing.
