Work on the construction of 10 new greenhouses for growing seedlings for reforestation will be completed by the end of the year in the Khabarovsk Territory. This was reported to TASS by the Minister of Forestry and Timber Processing of the Khabarovsk Territory Maxim Gulko.
“This year we are commissioning 10 new greenhouses,” Gulko said.
The installation of greenhouses is planned on the basis of five existing greenhouse complexes located in the villages of Nekrasovka, Korfovsky, in the city of Sovetskaya Gavan, in the villages named after Polina Osipenko, Selikhino and in a new greenhouse complex in the village of De-Kastri. The area of greenhouses will be from 0.06 ha to 0.1 ha.
Gulko specified that the total number of greenhouses on the basis of institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Forestry and Timber Processing by the end of the year will be 58 units. Next year, it is planned to build five additional greenhouses with an area of 0.06 hectares each in the region.
“The total capacity for growing larch planting material with a closed root system at the end of 2022 will be about 10.5 million seedlings, at the end of 2023 – 11.3 million seedlings,” the minister said, adding that this year for the construction of greenhouses a total of 28 million rubles will be allocated.
Now the total area of five greenhouse complexes for growing planting material with a closed root system of institutions subordinate to the Ministry is 2.81 hectares. They can grow about 9 million pieces of larch seedlings.
The construction of new greenhouses in the region is carried out in accordance with the road map of the Khabarovsk Territory project for the development of a greenhouse facility for growing seedlings (seedlings) of forest plants.
According to the national project “Ecology” in the region, work is underway to artificially restore forests on felling sites and areas affected by fires, in two years the forest will be planted on 13.4 thousand hectares. It is planned to plant larch, Korean pine (cedar), Scotch pine and spruce. The main volume of plantings will be made by larch, since this is the main forest-forming species in the region.
The national project “Ecology” is aimed at improving the efficiency of waste management, drastically reducing the level of air pollution in large industrial centers, as well as preserving the unique flora and fauna of Russia. National projects initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin started in 2019.
