In the Far Eastern Federal District, it is planned to build greenhouse complexes with a total area of 80 hectares by 2028. This is due to the plan to increase the supply of greenhouse products to residents of the Far East. This is stated in the message of the association “Greenhouses of Russia”.
“Cultivation of greenhouse vegetables is carried out in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District on an area of 60 hectares, and therefore the self-sufficiency of the Far East in greenhouse products does not exceed 24%. At the same time, more than 80 hectares of modern greenhouse complexes are planned to be built in the Far Eastern Federal District by 2028,” said the CEO Association “Greenhouses of Russia” Natalia Rogova at the round table “What you sow, you will reap: self-sufficiency of the Far East”. Her words are quoted by the press service of the association.
As recalled in “Greenhouses of Russia”, now the Far Eastern companies that decide to build greenhouses are reimbursed by the state for 20% of the direct costs incurred under the program of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the development of the Far East and the Arctic. According to Rogova, for accelerated import substitution, today it is necessary to partially subsidize the logistics of equipment, structures and materials for investors, and the regions to consider the possibility of additional support for vegetable growers in the construction of greenhouses and the production of fresh produce.
Konstantin Roslyakov, head of Khabarovsky Greenhouse Complex LLC, whose words are also quoted in the message, believes that banks need a roadmap for providing preferential loans to Far Eastern agricultural producers. The problem of high gas tariffs and significant costs for transporting equipment must also be solved.
According to the Ministry for the Development of the Far East, 19 projects for the construction of greenhouse complexes are already being implemented in the Far East using various state support mechanisms.
Vera Shcherbina, Chairman of the Government of the Primorsky Territory, said earlier that in 2022, the region’s greenhouse complexes will produce more than 12,000 tons of greenhouse vegetables.
