The largest enterprise in Sakhalin, State Farm Teplichny, a resident of the Yuzhnaya Advanced Development Territory (TOR), is investing 1 billion rubles in the construction of a new greenhouse complex, which is already under construction, the press service of the regional government reports.
“The Teplichny state farm will invest 1 billion rubles in the construction of a greenhouse complex using modern environmentally friendly technologies, including light culture. This will expand the range of products manufactured by the enterprise and provide residents of the Sakhalin Region with fresh vegetable products year-round,” the report says.
A greenhouse complex with an area of 2.9 hectares is already under construction. The project is provided with the necessary infrastructure facilities – a gas boiler house, water supply and a gas pipeline. The implementation of the project at the first stage will increase the gross volume of production of fresh greenhouse vegetables from 8,000 to 10,000 tons per year.
The first stage of the greenhouse complex is planned to be put into operation at the end of 2022. The new greenhouses will be different from those previously built, they will be six meters high, which will allow “using new lamps and creating an optimal microclimate.”
In the next five years, it is planned to invest another 5.1 billion rubles in the development of the state farm: to significantly expand the greenhouse complex, build a rose garden, service centers, an open-type nursery for growing shrubs and trees, a landscape center, a fruit nursery, as well as a greenhouse complex for growing seedlings of annual and perennial flowers. Production will be provided with modern infrastructure, including gas, the press service reports.
She recalls that from 2014 to 2017, the Teplichny state farm implemented a large-scale project to build greenhouses in several stages. Thanks to this, the share of greenhouse vegetables imported from China and other regions of Russia was reduced to a minimum. The automated complex replaced six hectares of obsolete greenhouses built in the mid-1980s.
As previously reported, State Farm Teplichny JSC (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, owned by the Ministry of Property of the Sakhalin Region) is the largest enterprise in the Sakhalin Region and the Far East for the production of greenhouse vegetable products.
Today, on an area of 10 hectares of greenhouses, the state farm grows more than 8 thousand tons of vegetables year-round, on an area of 86 hectares of open ground – 4 thousand tons of other vegetables, on an area of 105 hectares – more than 3.7 thousand tons of potatoes.
Teplichny sells its products in Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, and also supplies them to other regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
