On Sakhalin in 2023, the first stage of the newest greenhouse complex will be put into operation. The total area of the facility is 6.9 hectares. The complex of greenhouses is being built by State Farm Teplichny JSC. The company plans to invest 1 billion rubles in the project.

At the initial stage of operation of the facility, the company expects to increase the gross volume of production of fresh vegetables from 8 to 10 thousand tons annually. In the future, the product range will be expanded.
In August 2016, the enterprise became a resident of the Yuzhnaya priority development area. According to the regional Minister of Agriculture and Trade Inna Pavlenko, quoted by zr.media, the authorities provide extensive state support, including greenhouse vegetable growing. Thanks to this, farms have the opportunity to develop rapidly and create new greenhouse complexes.
The agency clarifies that agricultural enterprises in Sakhalin receive a wide range of subsidies. Thus, the amount of compensation for network gas reaches 20%, and for coal – 70%. Greenhouse enterprises at a reduced rate pay for electricity at the level of 30% of the industrial mark.
According to statistics, the supply of greenhouse vegetables per inhabitant of Sakhalin reaches 100%. Thanks to the construction and modernization of greenhouse complexes on the territory of the island region, over the past three years alone, it has been possible to increase the yield of greenhouse vegetables by more than 2 thousand tons per year. The region ranks first in terms of production of greenhouse vegetables among all subjects of the Far East.
