In recent years, the republic has been actively working on the introduction of alternative energy sources. Azerbaijan’s only greenhouse with zero emissions of carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere uses geothermal energy for heating. It was commissioned by Geotermal Aqro at the end of 2020 on the territory of Kurdamir district. The area occupied by the enterprise exceeds 131.8 thousand square meters. On average, 3.5-4 thousand tons of tomatoes are grown here annually. The products are sold both in the domestic and foreign markets.
