HAWE Cultivation Systems, part of the KUBO Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with Grupo Foodys from Spain. This collaboration aims to expand sustainable hydroponic cultivation systems, which enable year-round production of high-quality plants with an impressive 85% water savings compared to traditional growing methods.
The most recent project in this collaboration involves an expansion of the hydroponic system in Murcia, covering approximately 1.2 hectares. This expansion connects seamlessly with a previously successful 1.3-hectare project, bringing the total area dedicated to growing, processing, and packing to around 2.5 hectares. The expansion has been implemented in an existing widespan greenhouse, a common structure in the region.
“The vision on sustainability and working methods of both companies are a perfect match. This collaboration reinforces mutual commitment to eco-friendly horticultural practices and underscores their shared mission to make a positive impact on food production and the environment,” stated a representative from HAWE Cultivation Systems.
The produce grown by Foodys will be delivered to local premium retail markets, providing Spanish consumers with fresh, sustainably grown plants of the highest quality. The partnership exemplifies how shared values and innovative technologies can drive significant advancements in sustainable agriculture.
