The city expects to produce up to 1 million pieces of its own seedlings in order to cover its own needs and send it to other territories.
The authorities of Stavropol intend to increase the production of their own flower seedlings to 1 million by 2023. This will allow covering the city’s own needs and sending seedlings to other territories, said the head of the municipality, Ivan Ulyanchenko, during a direct line on the Telegram channel.
“This year we built two greenhouses for Gorzelenstroy, which make it possible to grow our own seedlings, about 500,000 flowers. By the end of the year, we plan to build two more greenhouses, grow about 1 million flowers a year,” he said.
Ulyanchenko noted that about 600,000 flowers were planted in the city’s flowerbeds and flower beds last year. In 2022, this volume will grow by a third. “Our own needs this year are 800,000 flowers. Greenhouses will give us the opportunity to provide for ourselves and offer seedlings to other territories, earn money, develop Gorzelenstroy Municipal Unitary Enterprise,” the head of the city said.
Large-scale reforestation work is also carried out in Stavropol. In 2021, 7.5 thousand trees were planted in the city and its environs. This year, the authorities intend to plant about 6,000 trees in the city’s forests.
