The first green vertical farms appeared in Irkutsk Gorzelenkhoz. With their help, specialists will grow seedlings of coniferous plants and flower seedlings. Mayor of Irkutsk Ruslan Bolotov announced this on social networks.
– Unlike conventional methods of growing seedlings in greenhouses, vertical farms take up much less space due to multi-level structures, – said the head of the regional center. – All important operations for plants are carried out automatically.
Thanks to the creation of farms in Gorzelenkhoz, they plan to bring the enterprise to positive financial indicators. The new technology requires less human intervention and maximizes plant growth and survival.
