According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic, 950 greenhouses with a total area of 166 hectares are operating in Tajikistan today. For comparison, in 2020 they occupied only 101.5 hectares. By mid-November 2023, vegetables were planted here on an area of 43.9 hectares. Director of the Institute of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan Alif Tolibov notes that five methods of growing greenhouse crops are used in the country. Among them are traditional (in the ground) with irrigation by grooves, traditional with drip irrigation, aquaponics and aeroponics. Recently, hydroponic greenhouses have also appeared in the republic.
