Lipetsk farmers have currently harvested 73 thousand tons of vegetables in greenhouses with a year-round growing cycle, which is 2.1 thousand tons more than a year earlier, said the head of the region Igor Artamonov.
According to him, in the past two years, the main increase in greenhouse vegetables is provided by increasing the collection of tomatoes. They are grown in four greenhouse complexes in the Lipetsk region, since the beginning of the year 35.4 thousand tons have been produced, which is almost 3 thousand tons more than last year. 37.2 thousand tons of cucumbers and 400 tons of lettuce were also received.

Artamonov noted that supporting regional producers and providing the population with food at more affordable prices are the most important areas of the economic policy of the regional authorities.
“Our agricultural producers are actively working for the benefit of the Lipetsk region and the country, their high-quality and inexpensive products are in great demand,” Artamonov said.
