More than 18 billion rubles will be invested in new greenhouses near Moscow
In the Moscow Region, two large investment projects are being implemented to grow greenhouse vegetables. Their implementation will allow the region to approach the 1st place in Russia in terms of the gross harvest of greenhouse vegetables.
“TK Podmoskovye” in the Voskresensk city district and “Lukhovitskiye vegetables” in Lukhovitsy will build greenhouse complexes with a total area of 50 hectares, their estimated production capacity is almost 42,000 tons of protected ground vegetables per year. The total investment in the construction of new greenhouses is more than 18 billion rubles,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region.
He clarified that the planned date for the commissioning of greenhouse complexes is the fourth quarter of 2022. 820 new jobs will be created in the Moscow region.
In 2014, 26 hectares of greenhouses were operating in the Moscow Region; 5.5 thousand tons of vegetables were harvested from this area per year. For seven years, another 170 hectares of greenhouses have been introduced in the region. With additional areas to be put into circulation in 2022, the total area of protected ground in the region will be 220 hectares. At the end of the year, it is planned to harvest 122,000 tons of protected ground vegetables in the Moscow region.
