According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kuzbass, for 5 months of 2022, 2,695 tons of greenhouse vegetables were produced in the greenhouses of the region – cucumbers, tomatoes, as well as greens: lettuce, parsley, dill. This is 37% more than in the same period last year.
“Production of greenhouse vegetables in the region continues to grow. Over the past five years, growth has almost tripled. Now the volume of production is increasing due to the use of modern technologies and new highly productive varieties. The resulting products are supplied to retail chains all year round, providing about a third of the needs of Kuzbass residents, ”said Sergey Tsivilev, Governor of Kuzbass.
Greenhouse vegetables are grown in five greenhouse farms: in the Kemerovo, Belovsky, Yashkinsky municipal districts and in the Novokuznetsk region. The total area of all greenhouses exceeds 28 hectares.
So, for example, cucumbers are grown by Agro Elit-Invest LLC (Kaltan). It uses low-volume technology of ventilation systems, curtains, electric lighting and drip irrigation, as well as carbon dioxide supply, which ensures good yields.
Cucumbers, tomatoes and greenery of Kuzbass residents are provided by the greenhouse facilities of KDV Yashkinskiye Teplitsy LLC. The complex is provided with modern technologies: the microclimate in the greenhouses is automated, the energy center provides the greenhouses with heat and carbon dioxide necessary for plants, water for production needs comes from its own well. All this contributes to an increase in productivity.
