More than 36 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables have been grown in the Stavropol region since the beginning of the year
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, since the beginning of the year, 36.4 thousand tons of vegetables have been harvested in the region, which is 26 percent more than in the same period in 2021. Now local farmers are sowing in greenhouse complexes and continue to harvest.
The region harvested 7.9 thousand tons of cucumbers and 28 thousand tons of tomatoes. The greenhouses also cultivate arugula, mizuna, spinach, corn, chard, tatsoi. Since the beginning of the year, farmers have grown 135 tons of salads and herbs, which is seven percent more than last year.
According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the region Elena Tambovtseva, state support measures help to develop the production of vegetable products. Vegetable growers of the Stavropol region annually receive subsidies to reimburse part of the costs of agrotechnological work.
“This year, farmers have been fully provided with unrelated support in the field of vegetable growing in the amount of 93.8 million rubles,”
noted the first deputy minister of agriculture of the region Elena Tambovtseva.
Recall that a greenhouse complex for year-round production of vegetables with an area of 10 hectares is being built in the Stavropol Territory. The total cost of the project amounted to more than two billion rubles, financing is carried out at the expense of investors. It is planned to hand over the object this year.
