Two large-scale investment projects were implemented this year by the Ivanovo timber company. In Palekh, the second furniture panel workshop in Russia in terms of production volume was built. But the raw materials were no longer enough. The seven-hectare warehouse is empty. The market was taken over by dealers.
Ivanovo Timber Company is one of the largest wood processors in the region. Started its activity in 2009. During the work, investment projects worth more than 6.5 billion rubles have been implemented. Workshops for plywood production and sawn timber, furniture boards and moldings have been set up. The design capacity of production allows processing 1 million cubic meters. meters per year. Work on the plot, transportation and sale of material – all in strict accordance with the rules of the EGAIS system. It is similar to barcodes and is designed to exclude unscrupulous producers and processors.
Since last year, the company has been implementing investment projects worth more than 4 billion rubles. One of them – the production of furniture panels, has been completed to date, its cost amounted to more than 400 million rubles. In an open field, a workshop with one and a half hundred jobs was built from scratch. The drying complex was increased by 4 times. They built a boiler room and the workshop itself, where they carry out deep processing of raw materials, which they themselves procure. In total, the plant employs more than 800 people, it is planned to increase the staff to 1.5 thousand people.
Roman Shagaev, Development Director of Ivanovo Timber Company: “Furniture board is a competitive product. As part of the market changes that are currently taking place, and after IKEI leaves Russia, we are confident that we will become leaders in production in the Central Federal District, and maybe throughout the country.”
Another major project was implemented this June. A greenhouse complex was built in Palekh. This greenhouse grows 1.3 million pine seedlings with a closed root system. Approximately as many new trees will grow here. The greenhouse can work both in manual and automatic mode. There are greenhouses with an open root system, where more than 6 million spruce and pine seedlings grow. The company is fully provided with planting material necessary for reforestation.
Dmitry Egorov, head of the Palekh Forest Nursery: “For example, we are now looking at a watering frame, it can be started both manually, also set at the time of day and night, and it will be watered in the desired, established mode that you set. In order to observe the temperature regime in the greenhouse, vents are provided.
This year, the company managed to achieve industrial independence. Increased fleet of vehicles. On the watch of the company – 7 logging complexes with the latest engineering ideas.
Roman Shagaev, Development Director of the Ivanovo Timber Company: “It can harvest up to seven thousand cubic meters of wood per month with only one or two people in the crew, respectively, for each unit, so with a minimum of employees we get the maximum result. The complex works around the clock, here we work on a rotational basis, so four people live here in a well-to-do life, in a high-quality trailer with communication, with the Internet.”
But it has not yet been possible to achieve raw material independence. The company faced serious difficulties in the supply of timber. The seven-hectare warehouse is empty. All raw materials go directly to production.
“A not very comfortable situation has developed on the raw materials supply market, in which resellers, traders, you can call it whatever you like, keep the price that does not allow forming a competitive product. We have our own allowable cutting area, but its quantity does not allow us to cover one hundred percent of the need.”
In July, a difficult decision was made. Due to the lack of raw materials, the production of plywood was forced to be reduced, some of the employees were transferred to work in a nursery, and some went on paid vacations. The company says that if the situation with raw materials does not change, they will have to raise the issue of reducing the production of sawn timber.
