One of the largest greenhouse complexes in the region, Sukhovsky, thanks to participation in the national project Labor Productivity, has increased the annual yield of greenhouse greenery by almost a quarter due to the modernization of greenhouses according to the principles of lean production. Now the enterprise will be able to grow an additional 387 thousand units of salad greens annually.
“We have set ourselves the task of fully meeting the needs of the region in fresh and natural products at the expense of local agricultural producers. The national project “Labor Productivity” helps Kuzbass enterprises to grow their products faster, in large volumes, and at the same time even reduce costs. At the same time, working conditions at enterprises are also improving,” said Sergey Tsivilev, Governor of Kuzbass.
With the support of experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC), the greenhouse facilities were modernized using lean solutions. The replacement of special cassettes for molding seedlings with more capacious ones made it possible to use greenhouses more efficiently and grow 20% more lettuce on the same area as before. The time for disinfection of greenhouses was also reduced, due to which production could be suspended for a total of one and a half months a year. Thanks to new processing standards, greenhouse areas almost never stand idle. The collection and packaging of finished products also became faster due to the competent organization of labor.
More than 20 employees of the agricultural enterprise have received free training to improve labor productivity and are already applying new competencies in their workplaces. After the training, one of the employees received a certificate of an internal trainer, who will be able to teach the basics of lean manufacturing to his colleagues and continue rationalization in production. The plans include the use of a lean approach when growing greenhouse vegetables and seedlings.
