Peasant farms in Sevastopol are creating new greenhouses. Yulia Kurbatova, Deputy Department of Agriculture and Consumer Market, visited one of them today.
The farm of Victoria Savitskaya is located in the Kachinsky district and grows strawberries. In 2019, the head of the farm became the winner of the competitive selection of the state program “Development of agricultural, fishery and agro-industrial complexes of the city of Sevastopol”.
“An agreement was concluded between the department and a novice farmer on the provision and use of a grant for a period of 5 years, under which a grant was transferred to the head of the farm for the creation and development of a peasant (farm) economy in the amount of 1.5 million rubles,” said Yulia Kurbatova.
The funds were directed to the installation of a greenhouse complex, which consists of three tunnel-type greenhouses. They grow berries of garden strawberry varieties Albion and Honey. In 2021, the farm harvested 8 tons of crops, this year it is planned to grow and supply 10 tons of berries to the markets of Sevastopol.
“Despite the fluctuations that are taking place in the market, including the increase in the cost of mineral fertilizers, the farm is coping with difficulties and continues to develop. In addition to the three already existing greenhouses, new ones are appearing, expansion is planned in the future,” the deputy director emphasized.
In 2022, the department plans to implement measures to provide the Agrostartup grant – two peasant farms will receive it. The amount of state support will be 5 million rubles.
