Over 572 tons of berries have been harvested in the Moscow region since the beginning of this year, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region reports.
In the region, mass collection began in mid-June. The data are taken into account for 33 enterprises and peasant (farm) enterprises. Raspberries, currants, blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries, honeysuckle and sea buckthorn are harvested in the region.
“In the first two weeks of July, more than 189 tons of berries were harvested. The main product – 176 tons – garden strawberries or strawberries,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region.
In the urban district of Kashira, thanks to the greenhouses of the Akgrokultura company, berries are picked all year round.
Earlier, the governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov noted that special attention is paid to agriculture in the region.
