Financing of projects in the field of greenhouse vegetable production until 2024 will amount to 45.2 billion rubles. According to RIA Novosti, Dmitry Aveltsov, head of the Agroanalytics Center owned by the Ministry of Agriculture, spoke about this at the Greenhouse Industry of Russia-2022 forum.
According to him, most of these funds are borrowed. First of all, this amount will be used for concessional lending. “State support plays an important role here, including protected ground vegetables,” the expert said. This can be explained by the fact that farmers no longer need long-term, but one-time support for the purchase and modernization of equipment.
The analyst noted that due to the support of the Government in the country, the share of high-tech enterprises in this area is growing every year, which are not inferior to world standards. Thanks to this, the production of greenhouse vegetables is becoming one of the main areas of agriculture for large agricultural regions. In particular, according to Aveltsov, at the end of last year, more than 350 large enterprises in 73 regions were already working in this direction in the country.
According to the center, a record number of projects in this area is expected for the above period. In particular, only in the current year there will be 24 of them, in the next – 23, and in 2024 – only 12. In the next two years, their number will drop to two and three, respectively. This means that while the industry is in high demand and very profitable, but by then it will have exhausted its possibilities. According to the presentation presented by Aveltsov, four vegetable growing facilities and one mushroom growing facility were examples of such large projects. The largest of the vegetable is being built in North Ossetia with 60.35 hectares worth 14.5 billion, in the Voronezh region a similar facility worth 9.6 billion rubles is being implemented for 49, Irkutsk for 5.5 billion for 12.5 and Lipetsk for three billion on 11 hectares. Mushroom for four billion rubles will appear in the Kursk region. Smaller projects are being implemented in Chukotka and the Kamchatka Territory – on an area of three and 4.5 hectares in the amount of 700 million and 2.5 billion rubles, respectively.
