Already in early spring, when buying cucumbers in the market, Atkar residents try to find cucumbers from Petrovo, claiming that they have a special taste and aroma. At the same time, they proudly note: “These are our locals.” Often, sellers try to pass off vegetables and greens imported from other parts as Petrovsky. They swear and swear that only this morning the tomatoes were harvested in the greenhouses of the village of Petrovo. Nothing can be done – market relations, but the tomatoes in Petrovo have not yet ripened, the cucumbers have run out, and greens are not grown there. But already in September, tomatoes from Petrovo will appear on the market. Chief agronomist Hakob Miskaryan told an AG correspondent that this year 33,000 tomato bushes of the promising Pink Rose variety are actively growing and developing on an area of 1.5 hectares. It is already clear that the harvest is expected to be quite good. Fruiting is predicted until December. 19 people, mostly women, work on tomato plantations. Most of them are residents of the village, but there are workers from the surrounding villages – Sazonovo, Lomovka, Elizavetino, who are delivered to the place of work by the company’s transport. – We are ready to accept at least 3 more people, – says Akop Sergeevich. – For those who like to work on the ground, working in a greenhouse is a pleasure, for which we pay a salary of 18 thousand per month in a timely manner and this is not the limit. The priority is given to the residents of the village of Petrovo, but they are ready to consider other candidates, taking into account the increase in greenhouse areas and the further development of production.
