The province of South Holland has awarded Tomatoworld a Data-Driven Automated Growth (DDAG) project grant. Thus, the province wants to strengthen the transition to sustainable and digital gardening.
Tomatoworld focuses on the latest offline growing technology. With offline cultivation, you can think about data analytics, sensor technology, and artificial intelligence.
According to Meindert Stock, a member of the Provincial Government of the Province of South Holland, the data-driven automated growing project develops important knowledge about data-driven growing. “The demonstration greenhouse is testing the latest growing technologies. So remote growing at a smaller footprint is one step closer. We are happy to support this.”
The sector is at the forefront when it comes to innovative solutions, according to the province. Think about the transition to circular and sustainable energy, robotization and data communication, the availability of healthy, safe and sufficient food, and greener cities.
