The inflow of investments is reflected in production indicators. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, over 1.5 million tons of vegetables were grown in winter greenhouses last year, which is 7% more than in 2021. Including the harvest of cucumbers amounted to 850 thousand tons (+2.5%), and tomatoes – 620 thousand tons (+7%).
Among the leading regions in this segment are the Lipetsk, Moscow, Belgorod, Chelyabinsk regions, the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the Republics of Mordovia, Tatarstan and a number of other entities, where modern complexes equipped with systems for maintaining a special microclimate and resource-saving technologies that significantly increase crop yields and business profitability. Optimal production and technical characteristics allow growing high-quality and safe products.
The intensive development of the greenhouse business in Russia is helped by state support measures, in particular, preferential investment loans and “stimulating” subsidies. In addition, for the regions of the Far East, where the issue of year-round provision of consumers with vegetables is especially relevant, there is a mechanism for compensating part of the costs of building greenhouses.
