The vertical farm is the greenhouse of the future. There is no sun in it, all the heat comes from the lamps. Air circulation, temperature, plant nutrition are controlled by special sensors. This allows you to grow tasty and healthy herbs and vegetables.
“We install such greenhouses in Russia, the Middle East, Europe and El Salvador. The technology is good for the northern territories of the country – Norilsk, Kamchatka, Chukotka, where there is no railway and vegetables are delivered by plane. All this affects the price. They can get on the counter in an indecent form. We put farms where there are no fields, but where people live. There are similar farms in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk. Everything that is presented is grown on a local lettuce farm for three tons of greens per month. There is a strawberry farm for 700 kilograms per month. All year round, fresh berries of our production are presented in Novosibirsk stores, ”explained Alexander Lyskovsky, General Director of iFarm, to the Om1.ru portal.
According to him, with the help of a vertical farm, you can grow cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and various salad greens. The root system of plants is in pots, which are placed in a pan, where liquid is supplied with solutions of mineral or organic fertilizers.
