The owners of the largest greenhouse complex in the Don region, “Donskaya Usadba,” have registered a company in Rostov to process grain, which is experiencing an increasing surplus on the domestic market. Sergei Rukin and Dmitry Lashin, owners of the Rost Group, one of the country’s largest producers of greenhouse vegetables, have registered a grain processing company in Rostov-on-Don. According to “Vedomosti,” the company confirmed that they plan to diversify their business. The newly registered company in the Don capital is called “Amirost” and will produce starch and starch-containing products, animal feed, store grain, and trade it wholesale. Mr. Rukin owns 78% of the new company, while Mr. Lashin owns 22%. The project is in its early stages.
Currently, there is an excess of grain on the domestic market due to export problems and an influx of Ukrainian grain. Therefore, grain processing is becoming relevant. For example, Amilko LLC from Millerovo in the Rostov region has almost completely replaced imported glucose syrup, which is used in the confectionery industry. In March, Rosselkhozbank put the Volgodonsk grain deep processing plant “Donbiotech” up for sale. The project’s degree of readiness is very high – over 80%. The investment amount is estimated at 17 billion rubles. If the plant is sold, the project is planned to be completed in 2023-2024 and start operating in 2025. The products that will be produced at the plant are necessary not only for export, as originally planned, but also for domestic consumption and feed production.
