In the past year, Lâm Đồng has actively pursued solutions to minimize greenhouse areas, notably in Đà Lạt’s urban zones, yielding notable outcomes. With over 95% of greenhouse areas on forestry land dismantled, farmers have willingly returned land for reforestation efforts, aligning with the Greenhouse Management Project’s goals to foster high-tech agricultural production adapted to climate change by 2030. Additionally, efforts are underway to transition farmers to cultivate crops outside greenhouses, promoting suitable crop varieties and outdoor farming techniques to ensure sustainable incomes while gradually reducing urban greenhouse areas. These initiatives not only enhance urban aesthetics but also mitigate environmental impacts associated with greenhouse expansion.
Lâm Đồng’s proactive measures in reducing greenhouse areas and promoting outdoor farming signify a significant step towards sustainable agricultural practices and urban development. By embracing technological advancements and fostering community engagement, the province showcases a model for other regions to mitigate environmental degradation while ensuring agricultural resilience and livelihood security.
