Large investors have already become interested in the Green Expanse project
Import-substituting production of unique equipment is being actively developed in the Tula region. We are talking about the “Green Expanse” — under this brand in the Dubensky district, the company “Organic” operates, specializing in the cultivation of lettuce and the production of an automated line for growing herbs and herbs in greenhouses using the hydroponics system. The equipment they produce can replace what was previously supplied only from European countries.
General Director of the company “Green Expanse” Ivan Rybalkin
“We are the first in Russia to start producing such equipment. Our engineers have designed a “salad line” — a conveyor for growing plants using the hydroponics system. Salads, herbs and herbs are immediately grown in cups, to which the irrigation system is connected,” explained Ivan Rybalkin, CEO of the company.
According to the head, this approach allows you to accelerate growth, reduces the percentage of marriage, protects against pests, and also allows the greens to keep fresh. The manufacturer produces both components and equipment independently — this means that the “Salad Line” can be put in a greenhouse of any scale, and its maintenance will not depend on foreign suppliers.
For clarity, the businessman literally greened the production lines, filling them with lettuce and basil. The initiative worked 100% — farmers immediately see the result that advanced technology can give, and large retail chains have received a reliable supplier of fresh greens.
Salads of “Green expanse” are grown without the use of herbicides, mineral fertilizers and antibiotics. Now the company cooperates with one of the largest chains in Russia — X5Retail, supplying fresh products to supermarkets. In the near future, you will be able to find Tula basil and rosemary in the stores of the Magnit chain.
As Ivan Rybalkin noted, the company does not plan to stop there. Organic has developed an investment project involving a significant expansion of production and the opening of new jobs. We are talking about the construction of six new lines and a sorting room.
“The cost of implementation is estimated at 130 million rubles. The volume of products grown per month will grow from 43 thousand to 268 thousand pieces.”
It should be noted that the company plans to implement the Green Expanse project by the beginning of spring 2023 and only at its own expense. At the same time, it will bring new jobs to the region and 3 million tax deductions annually. In addition, Green Expanse will support other Tula manufacturers and suppliers — raw materials and materials for the launch will be purchased in the region.
According to Svetlana Kvasova, director of the My Business Center, the development of import-substituting industries is especially important in the face of sanctions, and projects such as Green Expanse actively contribute to strengthening the region’s economy.
Director of the Center “My Business” Svetlana Kvasova
“The company has been cooperating with the My Business center for about two years. In the second half of 2020, they became participants in the Made in Tula Region program.
Import substitution, contributing to economic growth, also ensures an increase in the competitiveness of the domestic economy and a reduction in dependence on the supply of imported goods, which is especially important in the current conditions. The stability of the company itself and the quality of the products produced are also important.
The head of the company “Organic” for 15 years of construction of turnkey greenhouse complexes throughout Russia has gained a wealth of experience in interacting with farms. They are currently working on a project to build a new complex. Today, the production capacity is 30 thousand cups of salad per month, they plan to reach the figure of 200 thousand. And salads and greens are grown in environmentally friendly conditions”
At this stage, “My Business” provides information and advertising support to “Green Expanse” with the help of the project “Made in the Tula region”. Work is also underway to interact with federal retail chains.
Now the Rosselkhoznadzor is interested in the investment project.
According to Svetlana Tanaeva, deputy director of the Tula regional branch of the Rosselkhoznadzor, support for import-substituting industries is one of the most priority areas.

“Rosselkhoznadzor offers credit products focused on financing both large-scale industries and small farms. I would like to note that the bank also provides non-financial support to producers: for example, to organize their daily work in accordance with current digital technologies, to find partners, to pick up staff, etc. the platform of Their Farming will help farmers. And to sell ready—made products simply through the marketplace of the Russian Agricultural Bank Your Native,” added Svetlana Tanaeva, Deputy director of the Tula regional branch of the Russian Agricultural Bank.
It should be noted that by 2032 the company plans to create a network of greenhouse complexes throughout Russia.
