Agricultural producers of the Volgograd region this year exceeded the figures of last year ‘s grape harvest by one and a half times .300 tons of grapes were harvested, the yield was 14.5 t/ha.
Currently, the area of vineyards in the region is about 80 hectares, 64 hectares of them are occupied by plants in fruiting age. Nine agricultural producers are engaged in the cultivation of grapes. Among the largest enterprises are Dubovsky Vinograd LLC and sole proprietor D.E. Gusev, head of the farm.
Agricultural producers are reimbursed for part of the costs associated with laying vineyards and caring for them.This year, 2.7 million rubles have been allocated from the federal budget to the region to support the industry.
In 2021, the Volgograd region is included in the list of viticultural lands with a protected geographical indication of the object within the boundaries of which the production of wine products is carried out: “Grape-wine zone — Lower Volga, “Grape-wine regions — Dubovsky, Kamyshinsky and Sredneakhtubinsky”.
