The production line for the production of substrates for greenhouses will be launched at the TECHNONICOL plant in Krasnosulinsky district. The new facilities will increase the supply of greenhouse substrates in Russia by 20%.
The agreement on the project was signed by the Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev and the co-owner, managing partner of TECHNONICOL Sergey Kolesnikov in 2021. Eco–friendly greenhouse substrates are a new direction in the work of the Don “TECHNO Plant”, which produces mineral insulation (stone wool) for the insulation of residential, public and industrial buildings and technical insulation
According to the investment development Agency of the Rostov region, which accompanies the project, in May 2023 it is planned to complete construction work, commissioning of equipment at the new production site of the TECHNO Plant, and in June 2023 – to start production of greenhouse substrates.
“TECHNONICOL will allocate 528 million rubles for the implementation of the project, most of these investments – 412 million rubles – will be made in 2023,” comments AIR CEO Igor Burakov. – In general, the company’s investments in the Donskoy plant in 2023 will amount to about 440 million rubles, which is almost three times more than in 2022. Industry leaders, including TECHNONICOL, are finding new opportunities for growth in the new economic conditions.”
“The consumption of domestic greenhouse substrates in Russia increased by 28% in monetary terms over the past year, reaching 3.2 billion rubles,” says Vasily Tkachev, head of the Mineral Insulation direction of TECHNONICOL. – The share of domestic analogues of imported substrates in greenhouses already reaches 90 – 92%. The existing capacities for the production of substrates in the Russian Federation are involved by almost 100% and hardly cover the growing demand. The new production in the Rostov region, according to our estimates, will help to increase the supply of mineral substrates by 20% in 2023.”
The new line at the Don “TECHNO Plant” with a capacity of 160 thousand cubic meters of finished products per year will provide greenhouse farms in the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts with substrates.
Currently, the TECHNO Plant in the Rostov region produces 579 types of mineral insulation. Production volumes in 2022 increased by 3.2%, the geography of supplies expanded due to the north-western regions of Russia. The company managed to reduce the share of imported equipment and components from 30% to 10-15%. In 2023, work on import substitution and the search for new suppliers will continue.
