In a recent investigation by Rosselkhoznadzor, it was revealed that a farmland plot leased to OOO “Nova-34” in the Pan’shino rural settlement of Gorodishchensky district is under threat due to contamination. The greenhouse complex on the agricultural land was found littered with remnants of polyethylene film, used drip irrigation tape, construction debris, wooden and cardboard boxes, and iron barrels, amounting to a total pollution area of 474 square meters.
According to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, the lessee, OOO “Nova-34,” has been issued a warning, emphasizing the imperative to adhere to mandatory requirements for land use. The company has been urged to take corrective actions to ensure the appropriate use of the agricultural land, coupled with obligatory measures for land protection.
The land in question, as per the Extract from the Unified State Register of Real Estate, is in the possession of OOO “Nova-34,” and the warning has been sent to the legal entity, reminding them of their responsibilities.
Further insights from SPARK indicate that OOO “Nova-34” is registered in the Volgograd region, with its primary activity being the cultivation of vegetables, melons, root crops, tuberous crops, mushrooms, and truffles. The beneficiary of the company is reported to be Yu Suhua from China.
The case in Volgograd underscores the importance of responsible land use in agriculture. It serves as a reminder to farmers, agronomists, and farm owners of the need for sustainable practices. Balancing productivity with environmental stewardship is crucial for the long-term success of the agricultural sector.
