Haven Greens has unveiled the initial phase of Canada’s first fully automated leafy greens greenhouse, marking a significant advancement in sustainable agriculture. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide Canadians with a consistent, year-round supply of fresh, pesticide-free leafy greens.
Spanning the first 5 acres of a planned 10-acre development, the greenhouse employs cutting-edge, climate-controlled automation to cultivate crops without human contact. This approach ensures unparalleled standards of cleanliness and freshness from seeding through to harvest. The integration of the Green Automation mobile gully cultivation system, in collaboration with the Atrium Agri Group, enables Haven Greens to maintain a reliable supply of high-quality produce, independent of external weather conditions. The initial product offerings include Baby Green Leaf, Baby Red and Green Leaf, and Baby Spring Mix varieties, all cultivated to retain freshness longer than traditional methods.
CEO Jay Willmot emphasizes the current focus on refining operational processes to ensure seamless functionality. The facility’s design prioritizes stability and reliability, with ongoing system commissioning revealing the transformative potential of this innovative cultivation method.
The commissioning phase represents the final step before Haven Greens’ products become available to consumers. As the facility progresses through its phased expansion, the company remains dedicated to delivering superior greens and offering a sustainable, scalable solution for Canada’s fresh produce industry.
This development positions Haven Greens at the forefront of agricultural innovation, merging advanced technology with sustainable practices to enhance food security and provide Canadians with cleaner, fresher, and locally grown greens throughout the year.
