In recent years, indoor vegetable growing in Dagestan has received dynamic development. The area of greenhouses in the republic is about 700 hectares. Most of these covered vegetable gardens are concentrated in the Karabudakhkent, Kayakent, Derbent and Kizilyurt districts, as well as in the vicinity of Makhachkala.
Among the greenhouses there are a number of modern-type complexes equipped with high-tech equipment. One of these projects is being implemented by Yugagroholding LLC in Shamkhal Termen.
Recall that the first stage of the greenhouse complex with an area of 5.5 hectares was launched in 2017. Currently, the second stage with an area of 6.6 hectares is being completed.
According to the initiator of this investment project, the Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Moldova Abdurakhman Kamilov, back in 2015 it was decided to contribute to the implementation of the tasks set for import substitution. We picked up a plot of land, made a project with an area of 21.2 hectares, brought gas, light, water and other necessary infrastructure. A few years ago, in cooperation with leading Turkish companies, we launched the first project on an area of 5.5 hectares, where “pink” tomatoes are successfully grown, which are in demand on the Russian market today. The second stage of the greenhouse complex with an area of 6.6 hectares is expected to be completed by the end of November this year. The final works are underway today.
“We managed to attract advanced technological solutions. I will say more: a number of systems used in this complex have no analogues in Dagestan. We see that modern technologies make it possible to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of production. They constantly come to us for experience, we also go ourselves, study the activities of successful domestic vegetable growers. We plan to implement the next stages of the investment project,” Abdurakhman Kamilov said.
The Yugagroholding company is the flagship of the republic in the field of protected soil vegetable growing, the project has made a significant contribution to the task of technical and technological modernization of the agro-industrial complex of Dagestan. moreover, the experience of Yugagroholding is interesting not only to representatives of greenhouses in Dagestan. Just a few days ago, a forum was held in Kaspiysk with the participation of representatives of the Russian greenhouse business, who also took the opportunity to get acquainted with this investment project and gave a high assessment of the project implementation.
The regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food remind: in Russia, import substitution in the field of greenhouse vegetable growing is extremely important. Last year, about 400 thousand tons of tomatoes were imported into the country. This means that investments in the field of indoor vegetable growing are in demand. Moreover, Dagestan “pink” tomato has a wide popularity in domestic markets.
Commenting on the activities of the enterprise, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov notes: a center for the development of protected soil vegetable growing has practically been formed at the site of Yugagroholding LLC.
“We see that the arrangement of educational laboratories is being completed here, where scientific and practical seminars will be held, it will be possible to exchange experience, delve into new technologies. There are no analogues of the technological system used here in other greenhouse complexes in the region. It is gratifying that such productions are being developed in our republic.
The introduction of modern technologies demonstrated by Yugagroholding gives impetus to the arrival of innovations and the launch of similar projects in other regions of Dagestan,” Sharip Sharipov, who visited the farm, is convinced.
It should be noted that the People’s Assembly of the Republic of Moldova has established a practice when deputies supervise leading investment projects to find ways to solve emerging problems. Deputy of the Republican Parliament Sagid Sagidov was identified as the curator of this project, who noted that increasing investment activity in the agro-industrial complex, a key area for Dagestan, is a priority.
“We in the parliament are working on the development of legislative initiatives aimed at increasing investment attractiveness and supporting investors who create such socially important industries. This project is relevant on the scale of the development of the agricultural sector of the republic, we will work out the mechanisms for its support,” the People’s deputy said.
