The first four mini-greenhouses for growing seedlings with a closed root system were built in the Yenisei, Minusinsk and Krasnoyarsk forest districts.
Now specialists are preparing them for spring planting.
Such mini-complexes were built in the region for the first time. The Krasnoyarsk Forestry became a pilot site. Two greenhouses with the volume of cultivation of almost 500 thousand seedlings per year appeared here at once. They were built according to an individual project from materials of Krasnoyarsk manufacturers.
According to experts, such complexes are able to withstand large amounts of precipitation and strong wind loads typical of the region, and seedlings have almost 100 percent survival. They will be used during reforestation.
“Now the complexes are fully ready, in the spring we will install watering ramps, pull a special film on the structures and begin the process of growing seedlings. To do this, we will take the seeds of coniferous trees and sow them in special cassettes, which we will place in greenhouses, where we will watch the seedlings germinate. After that, we will move the seedlings to the hardening field so that they can adapt to the natural growing conditions, and in the fall we will plant them in the forest. I would like to note that seedlings with ZKS take root better, and their advantage is that they can be planted in the ground not only in spring and autumn, but also in summer,” said Oleg Kudryavtsev, director of the Krasnoyarsk Forestry.
By the end of the year, the installation of mini-greenhouses will begin in the Boguchansky, Ilansky and Dzerzhinsky forest districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
