In the picturesque city of Da Lat, a new café concept is gaining popularity by blending the charm of a coffee shop with the intrigue of agricultural tourism. Situated on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, the café is not just a place to enjoy a cup of coffee but a destination where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of modern farming.
The brainchild of Mr. Tran Huy Duong, this innovative space was inspired by green agricultural tourism models he observed in Malaysia and Japan. “Of course, I didn’t copy these models exactly,” Mr. Duong explains. “I adapted them to our local conditions, leveraging my experience in high-tech agriculture and catering to tourists’ growing interest in clean agricultural production.”
The café is thoughtfully divided into various sections: a processing area, a relaxing coffee space, a shopping area, outdoor landscapes, high-tech agricultural displays, and an exhibition of farming tools. Each table in the café features a different type of flower or vegetable, planted in lightweight, nature-friendly pots, enhancing the feeling of dining within a lush vegetable and flower farm.
The use of wooden furniture adds to the cozy and natural ambiance, making it an ideal spot for friends or couples seeking a relaxing environment. The café offers a range of beverages, priced around 30,000 VND each.
Beyond the main seating area, the café showcases hydroponic and aeroponic vegetable and fruit farming methods. This area is particularly popular among visitors interested in learning about modern agricultural techniques. Students from agricultural and biotechnology programs at Dalat University and Can Tho University frequently visit for practical insights into high-tech farming applications.
Quynh Uyen, a local from Lam Dong, expressed her admiration for the café: “I’m very impressed with the concept. It’s a great idea that can be replicated and will surely attract more tourists to Da Lat.”
All ingredients used in the café’s beverages are sourced transparently, with vegetables grown directly at the farm behind the café, ensuring hygiene and health safety.
For those interested in visiting, the Green Agricultural Café can be reached from the Dai Hoc roundabout by turning onto Nguyen Cong Tru Street, following it to Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, and then turning right for about 800 meters. The café is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM.
The Greenhouse Café in Da Lat exemplifies the fusion of relaxation and education within the agricultural tourism sector. By integrating high-tech farming methods into a café setting, it offers a unique experience that attracts both casual visitors and those interested in modern agriculture. This innovative model has the potential to be replicated in other regions, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing local tourism.
