Mikhail Mishustin got acquainted with the project of an advanced year-round greenhouse complex in Yakutsk
With the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev, the Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexey Chekunkov and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation discussed the features of the northern greenhouse economy.
A high-tech agro-industrial project for year-round growing of fresh vegetables in permafrost climatic conditions is implemented by Sayuri LLC. The main goal is to provide the population of Yakutia with fresh and high–quality vegetable crops and greens.
Cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes and various greens are grown in Sayuri greenhouses, and peppers and eggplants are grown in small batches. In addition, the complex conducts variety tests of strawberries (strawberries).
The logistics of the enterprise is built in such a way that the products go on sale in a day, maximum two after harvest. At the same time, the geography of supplies is not limited only to the capital of the region. When reaching the design capacity from 2023, the greenhouse complex will be able to provide up to 25% of the population of Yakutsk with fresh products, significantly lowering prices for agro-industrial products on the local market.
“It is very important that investors come to this business. And, without a doubt, it is necessary to support the development of such infrastructure,” Mikhail Mishustin said.
“Yes, Mikhail Vladimirovich, we really hear from all investors and from all regions that it is much more expensive to build the same complex in the Far East than in the European part of Russia. And together with Aisen Sergeevich Nikolaev, we once literally pulled out Sayuri with all the support measures that are possible, both federal and regional. – Said Alexey Chekunkov. – But a systemic solution would be to increase the degree of compensation for Far Eastern projects, and not only for greenhouse complexes, but also for poultry farms, storage facilities, seed plants. We are currently working on such a program with the Ministry of Agriculture, where we determine priority areas for the development of our own agricultural products in the Far East, determine the levels of support. And we will report to you suggestions in order to make a systematic decision”
