In the Kamyzyaksky district of the Astrakhan region, garden strawberries are being prepared for winter. Andrey Kirindyasov’s farm is now installing greenhouses to preserve seedlings.
This year, the farmer planted 2 early varieties − Murano and Clery. The novice farmer managed to develop agricultural production thanks to the Agrostartap program within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship”.
55 thousand seedlings of garden strawberries on 1.5 hectares of land in the Kamyzyaksky district are being prepared for wintering. Greenhouses are installed on berry plots so that the bushes take root and endure the cold. Andrey Kirindyasov started growing strawberries on a production scale this year. Although I have been familiar with this agricultural industry for a long time − for several years I independently studied the peculiarities of berry cultivation and experimented with varieties in my garden.
“I went to this for a long time − 5 years. He grew strawberries in his personal subsidiary farm. I decided on the varieties and already under the Agrostartap program I went to such a scale, having received a grant,” says the head of the farm Andrey Kirindyasov.
Thanks to the Agrostartap program, within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship”, the farmer received 3 million rubles. With these funds, Andrey Kirindyasov laid 1.5 hectares of berry fields, purchased seedlings and greenhouse material.
The novice farmer preferred varieties of garden strawberries Murano and Clery. They differ from others in high yield, large and fragrant berries. From one bush you can get up to 2 kilograms of sweet fruits. Now about 60 thousand strawberry seedlings have been planted on Andrey Kirindyasov’s berry plantation. Next year, the farmer plans to harvest up to 10 tons of sweet berries.
Now the farmer has a serious task − to save the planting material in order to get ripe and sweet fruits. Proper shelter will help to smooth out winter temperature changes and preserve the roots of strawberry bushes. And if the harvest pleases not only Andrey, but also buyers, the farmer will try to increase the volume of cultivation.
“The most important thing is to have high-quality planting material, land. Of course, strawberries prefer sandy soil more, and high-quality water is needed. These are the 3 components that are needed for a good harvest,” says Andrey Kirindyasov.
Andrey Kirindyasov hopes to harvest the first crop in May next year. It is planned that mostly strawberries will replenish local counters, and some will be sent for sampling to city residents.
