Schoolchildren of the Pervomaisky village of the Tomsk region will learn to work in an automated greenhouse, the equipment of which is planned to be purchased for a grant from the regional competition of career guidance projects in the agro-industrial complex, the press service of the regional Department for socio-economic development of the village reported on Wednesday.
“The Department … conducted an annual competitive selection of educational organizations to provide grants in the form of subsidies to support career guidance projects in the field of agricultural production. The winners of the competition will receive 100 thousand rubles from the regional budget for their implementation,” the message says.
One of the five winners of the competition – Pervomaiskaya Secondary School – plans to purchase “smart” automated greenhouses and equipment with the grant funds. Students will conduct research work in them and will grow crops, as well as practice in increasing plant yields and applying agricultural technologies.
“The main agronomist of the project will be a technology teacher, there is already experience in conducting such lessons. Next spring we plan to grow radishes, cabbage, tomatoes in greenhouses. Preliminary agreements with suppliers on the purchase of equipment have already been reached,” the deputy director of the school for Information and Communication Technologies Sergey Mityagin is quoted as saying.
It is also reported that the Tomsk Agricultural Institute, Tomsk Agricultural College and its two branches – Podgornovsky and Pervomaisky – will receive grant support within the framework of the competition for their projects. Educational institutions intend to organize “Agromaster”, “Agrosadik”, “School of a young veterinarian” and a project to popularize the profession of “Master of agricultural production”.
