In Naro-Fominsk in 2022, more than 400 tons of raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries will be able to grow, the berries will be delivered to stores in Moscow and the Moscow region.
The harvest will be increased by increasing the production area of one of the largest berry enterprises in the Moscow region, Greenfields Agro, by 30%, the 360 channel reports.
“This will fully cover the need of retail chains for high-quality berries near Moscow,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government.
The company signed an agreement on the second stage of berry greenhouses with the government of the Moscow Region in 2021 at SPIEF.
Only domestic materials were used to launch greenhouses. As a result, the residents of Naro-Fominsk received 20 more permanent jobs and about 200 seasonal jobs from June to November.
“For the second year in a row, Greenfields Agro has been importing seedlings of plants in spring, and in summer it provides customers with sweet berries,” said Tatyana Ivanchenko, director of the company for external relations and innovations.
“Despite the enormous pressure of external factors, we are one of the few who were able to bring planting material,” Ivanchenko added.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture said that the production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia increased by 11.1%: the leaders among the regions are Lipetsk, Moscow, Kaluga, Volgograd, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk regions, Stavropol Territory, the republics of Tatarstan and Mordovia.
