Red Sun Farms, a vertically integrated greenhouse grower with locations in Canada, USA and Mexico, is making a significant investment in its facilities.
In 2020, Red Sun Farms completed 27 acres of construction on a three-phase project totaling 63.8 acres in Kingsville, Ontario.
Red Sun is making significant investments in its Texas and Ontario facilities.
Additionally, a second investment for Red Sun Farms included 18 acres of high-tech greenhouse farming, expanding Red Sun Farms’ overall portfolio for this location to 42 acres. Mexico successfully completed a 25-acre expansion prior to its winter crop.
This year, Red Sun Farms Mexico is on track to deliver an additional 35 acres for the 2021 winter season.
Also in 2021, Red Sun Farms has committed to significant growth in its distribution centers to support greenhouse developments.
These include:
Pharr, TX will increase its capacity by 40,000 sq. ft. of cold storage, totaling this facility size to 106,000 sq. ft. This addition will be completed to support the 2021 winter season.
Kingsville, ON is moving forward with an additional 22,500 sq. ft. of cold storage this year, increasing the total size of this location to 62,500 sq. ft.
The company’s 2021 expansion plans include additional acreage and increasing cold storage capacity.
