The idea to engage in gardening with a twenty-year-old mother on maternity leave arose not so long ago. The girl accidentally stumbled on the Internet on the page of Kostroma farmers who grow garden strawberries in closed ground. I became interested, began to actively study the berry culture and began to communicate with the owners of the greenhouse farm from the Kostroma region.
The social contract helped bring the idea to life. The girl’s business idea was approved and Evgenia became a member of the Assistance program, which is supported by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
State support funds were used to install a greenhouse, equipment for drip irrigation and lighting, as well as purchase planting material. The novice gardener ordered strawberry seedlings from colleagues in Kostroma, who inspired her to open her own business and still support, advise and give tips on how to properly care for the berry.
In May, Evgenia Dyakova planted 400 bushes in a greenhouse with a total area of 40 sq.m.
“There is no such type of gardening in our area, mostly Krasnoyaruga residents grow strawberries in the open field. After all, it is not so easy to produce berries in a greenhouse, and besides, this direction is new for our area. I think it will be in demand among the population. We will be able to supply them with delicious natural berries twice a year, collect and sell a natural product from early spring to late autumn,” said the novice farmer.
The girl will begin to receive her first harvest at the end of July. In addition to berries, Evgenia will also sell planting material, those who already want to buy her products.
Now the new business is at the stage of development, assistance is provided not only by gardeners from Kostroma, but also by experienced farmers from the Borisov region, whom Evgenia turns to for advice. Next year, if the business develops successfully, she will expand her greenhouse and also produce garden strawberries in the open field.
“Thanks to the social contract, I was not only able to realize my dream, but very soon I will improve the well-being of my family. I will be happy to please the residents of Krasnoyaruzh and residents of other regions with delicious, juicy berries of my own production almost all year round.
