In the picturesque Zelenovskie Lakes area of the Kamchatka Krai, a pioneering project is taking shape—the “Kamchatka” greenhouse complex. Governor Vladimir Solodov recently disclosed that the construction is progressing rapidly, with the structure now ready for glazing in the upcoming spring.
The decision to postpone the installation of glass panels during winter is strategic, aimed at avoiding unnecessary snow load on the framework. Once winter recedes, the glazing process will commence, marking the beginning of the internal outfitting of the premises and the installation of equipment for the production of greenhouse vegetables.
The significance of this endeavor goes beyond architectural milestones; it represents the inception of a new era in sustainable agriculture for the Kamchatka region. The “Kamchatka” complex, a project spearheaded by the “Greenhouse Regions” Group of Companies under the ownership of the investment fund “REAM Management,” specializes in green technologies.
Notably, “Kamchatka” is the first greenhouse complex within the Far Eastern Federal District (DFO) initiated by the “Greenhouse Regions” Group. The group, renowned for its commitment to innovative agricultural practices, already operates greenhouse complexes in the Republic of Komi (“Sosnogorsky”), Chuvash Republic (“Novocheboksarsky”), and Perm Krai (“Permsky”).
Anticipation is high for the inaugural harvest, projected to yield around three thousand tons of vegetables. This output is set to address up to 80% of the local population’s vegetable needs, marking a significant stride towards regional food security.
As the “Kamchatka” greenhouse complex materializes, it symbolizes a promising future for sustainable agriculture in the Kamchatka Krai. The strategic planning, technological innovations, and commitment to local food security position this initiative as a beacon for the entire agricultural industry.
