Governor Vladimir Solodov expects that the construction of a greenhouse complex in the Zelenovskie Ozerki area will begin in Kamchatka in the autumn.
As the regional government told IA Kam 24, work is already underway to build road infrastructure to the location of the future greenhouse complex.
“The greenhouse complex is under preparation, we expect to start construction in the autumn. Unfortunately, the imposed sanctions affected the timing of the project, since in Russia there are no production components necessary for protected ground. This is the so-called hydroponics, which allows you to grow vegetables in a year-round cycle. Now the fundamental issues have been resolved, a road is being built to Zelenovsky Ozerki, which will provide transport accessibility not only for the tourist complex, but also for the greenhouse,” said the head of the region Vladimir Solodov.
As the authorities of Kamchatka assure, the greenhouse complex will provide the population of the region with tomatoes and cucumbers at an affordable price in the amount of at least three thousand tons per year. The completion date for the project is scheduled for 2024.
Earlier, as Kam 24 news agency reported, Vladimir Solodov said that the greenhouse complex in the Zelenovskie Ozerki area would be completed in 2023. According to the governor, the project is ambitious, quite complex and provides for about two billion rubles of private investment.
Officials do not name the specific price at which local vegetables will be sold after the completion of the construction of greenhouses.
