The first ton of seasonal strawberries was harvested in the Naro-Fominsk district of the Moscow region
Greenfields Agro LLC is engaged in growing berries in tunnel greenhouses. This year, the enterprise expanded its area to 15 hectares, due to the commissioning of the second stage of the berry complex. Harvest plans for this year are about 100 tons of strawberries and the same amount of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. More than 400 tons in total. According to the manufacturer, this will provide most of the demand among residents of Moscow and the Moscow region.
“The company purchased land plots in the Moscow region with a total area of 148 hectares in the Naro-Fominsk urban district. Over the past year, an additional 5 hectares have been developed for growing berries. Greenfields Agro today harvested the first crop of this season – a ton of strawberries, in total it is planned to produce 100 tons of delicious, Moscow region berries per season,” said Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Vladislav Murashov.
The company has been operating in the Moscow region for the second year. Greenfields Agro started construction of the first stage of greenhouses in the Moscow Region in 2020. At SPIEF 2021, an additional cooperation agreement was signed with the Government of the Moscow Region, which accelerated the implementation of the second phase of the project.
It should be noted that during the construction of the 2nd stage of the complex, only materials of domestic production were used.
The total investment in the project amounted to 1 billion rubles. To date, 700 million have been used.
The Greenfields company was founded in 1999 and is the leading supplier of fresh berries on the Russian market.
The main crops for cultivation are: blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to create 775 jobs, of which 175 are permanent, the remaining 600 jobs will be seasonal.
Greenfields berries are sold in local stores under the Artfruit brand.
