The government will expand measures to support producers of potatoes and other vegetables. Subsidies under the new federal project “Development of vegetable and potato growing” will be able to count not only on small and medium-sized enterprises, but also on the self-employed and citizens running personal subsidiary plots. The resolution to this effect was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Subsidies will be provided for agrotechnological work, for the production of vegetables, including elite varieties, in open and protected ground – in greenhouses and hotbeds using additional lighting technology.
Financial assistance will be provided from federal funds, which are sent to the regions in the form of transfers. At the same time, Crimea, Sevastopol and the Far Eastern regions will receive a higher coefficient in the calculation and distribution of funding, which is due to their increased plans for the production of potatoes and other vegetables.
The amount of the subsidy for a particular enterprise or a person running a personal subsidiary plot will depend on the volume of products produced.
Another change concerns agricultural producers building or modernizing vegetable stores. They will be able to claim a subsidy covering three-quarters of the cost of the work. The selection of projects will be handled by a special commission of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The new federal project “Development of vegetable and potato growing” will start on January 1, 2023. The new rule on increased subsidies for the construction and modernization of vegetable stores will come into force on January 1, 2024.
Now support for agricultural producers engaged in the cultivation of potatoes and other vegetables is carried out within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Agriculture and the Regulation of Agricultural Products, Raw Materials and Food Markets.
The signed document amended Government Decrees No. 1445 of August 30, 2021 and No. 2063 of November 26, 2021.
