The production of greenhouse vegetables is growing in the region. To date, 21,784.6 tons of vegetable products have been harvested in the greenhouses of the region (108% compared to last year). Including 18287.7 tons of cucumbers, 3359 tons of tomatoes, 137.9 tons of other products.
The importance of providing the population with vegetable products in the off-season, as well as the importance of developing the greenhouse complex of the region, was repeatedly emphasized in his interviews by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the region – the Minister of Agriculture of the region Roman Kovalsky. At the moment, the total area of greenhouse complexes is 116.3 hectares, including winter – 102.4 hectares. Ten hectares are equipped with an electric lighting system, which gives an increase in productivity and fully provides the region with vegetables.
It is worth noting that among the appeals that come from residents of the region to the telegram channel of Acting Governor Roman Busargin, there are also wishes “to provide our region with its own vegetables and fruits.”
In order to ensure that the points of sale of local vegetables, not counting stationary trade facilities, are always within walking distance for residents of the regional center, the greenhouse enterprises of the region are constantly working on organizing new points of sale of their products.
For example, LLC “REHN” recently purchased new Kupava trailers, and now fresh vitamin products of the enterprise can be bought at eleven sites in the city in Zavodskoy (3 points), Oktyabrsky (4 points), Frunzensky (2 points), Volzhsky and Kirovsky (one point) districts of the city.
Also, greenhouse farms of the region are trying to keep prices for their products: cucumbers are sold from 40 to 60 rubles / kg, tomatoes – 80-98 rubles / kg.
