In the heart of Russia’s agricultural landscape lies the Saratov region, where significant changes are taking place in the greenhouse vegetable industry. According to the regional Ministry of Information, Saratov is among the country’s leading producers, along with such reputable agricultural centers as the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, as well as the Lipetsk, Moscow, Volgograd, Kaluga, Tyumen, Belgorod and Tambov regions.
In total, since the beginning of the year, 11,807 tons of vegetables have been collected in Saratov greenhouses. Among them, cucumbers lead the way with an impressive harvest of 11,211 tons. In addition, 491 tons of tomatoes and 105 tons of various other popular vegetables contributed to this remarkable harvest.
