Greenhouse farming plays a significant role in the development of agriculture in the Chelyabinsk region and the Kurgan region bordering it. The products of local producers are regularly checked by the Rosselkhoznadzor, and violations of safety requirements that may harm consumers are punishable by fines or even temporary suspension of activities.
For example, in mid-August, 12 samples of vegetables from greenhouses near the village of Ozerny, Krasnoarmeysky district, were sent for research. Tomatoes and cucumbers were tested. This was told on the Rosselkhoznadzor website.
Last week, employees of the Department of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance independently went to the Sosnovsky district for samples of vegetables. In greenhouses, 10 samples of beets, carrots and potatoes were selected for the study.
Studies of samples for unsafe pesticides and agrochemicals will be conducted in the Chelyabinsk branch of the Federal Center for Animal Health Protection. By the end of the greenhouse season, the Rosselkhoznadzor plans to visit eight more farms of the region with an inspection.
