The Mkhitaryan family from the village of Striguny, Borisov district, is a regular participant in them.
The products grown on their farm have been known to Borisov residents for a long time. The spouses received a grant of 1.5 million rubles by taking part in the competition under the Support for Beginning Farmers program. They grew vegetables first, then strawberries and flowers. The family owned 2 land plots of 3.4 hectares for these purposes. The allocated funds were used to build 2 greenhouses equipped with drip irrigation, purchased a circulation pump, a boiler and remontant strawberry seedlings. During the first two years of growing strawberries, 15 tons of berries were obtained. We worked with this culture for five years. But the love for vegetables and the experience of working with these crops led the Mkhitaryan family to grow them again.
Artur Mkhtitaryan, the head of the IP, during a tour of the greenhouses, showed what a necessary device for planting radishes, very functional and facilitating the systematic planting of seeds, was made this year, and the harvest was excellent.
“Yes, this radish season has yielded four tons. Now other vegetables have been planted in these greenhouses. For example, tomatoes and eggplants – 700 bushes per sample. Let’s see how the culture will behave. Hot pepper – 250 pieces, sweet pepper – 1200 pieces. The seeds are excellent, let’s see what the harvest will be. Also, 2 greenhouses are occupied by cucumbers, of which we harvested 6 tons that year,” Artur Mkhtitaryan said.
Grown vegetables are sold in the markets of the city of Belgorod.
